This year the Marietta Chapter of the SAR hosted a Memorial Service for the Revolutionary War patriots buried in the Mound cemetery in Marietta Ohio. The event was well attended by many and numerous SAR and DAR chapters were present even the West Virginia Society Captain James Neal Chapter traveled to attend the memorial services. The Master of Ceremonies Doug Pettit welcomed everyone and thanked them for attending. During the event one of the highlights was having Michael Halbert as Lafayette give a brief speech thanking the people of Marietta and remembering some of the patriots buried in the cemetery who served under his command. As with many of the attendees the Camp Charlotte members traveled down to help out with Color Guard duties and wreath presentations. The weather was very nice and mild to keeps things cool.
