April 16th The OHSSAR and DAR were ask to give a grave marking ceremony to a patriot who it buried at the Swope-Cole cemetery near Amanda Ohio. The cemetery is cared for by Professor Scott Barr and is in the process of being reconditioned after years of neglect. Members of the SAR chapters Hocking Valley, Camp Charlotte and Benjamin Franklin with members from the DAR chapters Pickaway Plains and Elizabeth Sherman Reese were all in attendance. The weather was very blustery put plenty of sunshine. Afterwards we were invited to a picnic down in the old walnut grove.

Membership in the Sons of the American Revolution is open to any man, age 18 or older, who can prove lineage to an ancestor who supported the war for American Independence, through military service, support, or political figures who supported the revolutionary effort.
