2026 Williamsport 250th Celebration at Ballard Park

This year with the focus on the 250th after the Camp Charlotte attended the Ashville 4th of July parade event we traveled down to the village of Williamsport to assist in the opening of the 250th celebration event at Ballard Park. This was a first for Camp Charlotte SAR and the Pickaway Plains DAR chapters so planning was a little difficult but it all turn out well with the host being appreciative for the work involved. We presented the colors while the Circleville Barbershop Quartet sang the National Anthem and then offered a 3 volley salute to finish off the opening ceremonies.

2026 Meet the Patriots event Old colony Burying Grounds

This year for the 250th celebration the Granville Union Cemetery Board in partner with both the Son of the American Revolution and the Daughters of the American Revolution participated in portraying the various revolutionary war veterans buried at the Old Colony burying grounds in Granville Ohio. Our own Camp Charlotte members had a number of cast involved in the affair. The temperature for the day stayed a warm 90+ degrees so ice water was very important to be around to try and keep cool.

2026 Chillicothe Patriot-compatriot grave marking ceremony

June 13th Camp Charlotte had the honor to participate in its first Compatriot Grave marking ceremony at Grandview Cemetery honoring Compatriot Robert A. Fetters by the Arthur St. Clair chapter SAR. and on the same day a Patriot grave marking even in the same cemetery in Patriots square for 5 Patriots John Blue, Thomas Clifton, David Jolly, Moses McLean and John Poe. Weather was very good during the whole day with plenty of sun shine. Many various other chapter join the Arthur St.Clair chapter in this special event.

2026 Reber Hill Grave marking event for Col. Thomas Gibson

30 May the Camp Charlotte Chapter of the SAR and the Pickaway Plains chapter had the honor to present the grave marking event to Col. Thomas Gibson the first Ohio State auditor. Weather for this event was prefect bright sky with a very gentle breeze to keep the flags from being still. The event was well attended with the OHSSAR President and other members of various other SAR and DAR chapters in the audience. Information on Thomas Gibson has been a long focus of Camp Charlotte historian with many twists and turns along the way. Thanks to all who were able to take photos of the event.

2026 Memorial Day parade

Again this year Camp Charlotte of the SAR has been asked to be part of the Memorial day parade, joining us this year again was the Pickaway plains of the Daughters of the American Revolution DAR and a newly created chapter the Chief Cornstalk Children of the American Revolution CAR chapter. The day was good with the rain easing up to get the parade through the 1 mile route to Forrest Cemetery.

2026 Marietta Memorial Service honoring Revolutionary war Patriots

May 21st members of the Camp Charlotte chapter of the SAR attended Memorial services in Marietta Ohio honoring all the revolutionary soldiers buried in the Mound Cemetery presented by the Marietta SAR & DAR chapters. There were many other SAR and DAR in attendance though the weather was a little on the wet and cool side. Services were held because of rain inside St. Paul’s church across the road from the cemetery itself.

2026 Worthington chapter DAR Tree dedication

April 24, 2026 As part of the nationwide America 250 celebrations, the Worthington Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution hosted a ‘Liberty Tree’ dedication held at East Granville Road Park in Worthington, OH.
A White Oak—a species native to Ohio—was planted as a ‘Liberty Tree’ to commemorate the sacrifices of Revolutionary War Patriots who fought for America’s independence.

2026 Spring Board on Management meeting and Conference

This years Spring meeting was held April 24th through the 26th at the Sauder Village and Campgrounds in Archbold OH. The members of Camp Charlotte were in attendance to be a part of this very important event as the election of new OHSSAR officers was to take place and the election Ohio’s next candidate for Vice President General. There were many awards and honors given to all those who work hard to help promote the mission of the Sons of the American Revolution. 2026 Westfall 250th event Extravaganza

April 23 the members of Camp Charlotte SAR and the Pickaway Plains DAR were invited to a 250th Celebration event held at the Westfall elementary school. The event was well attended by many of the students, parents and faculty of the school. there were many questions on the items the members of the SAR brought in and educated those on what is was to live during the period of the revolutionary war. There were listed approx. 400 RSVP and the number of kids that came in to see and learn was truly special.
