2026 Westfall 250th event Extravaganza

April 23 the members of Camp Charlotte SAR and the Pickaway Plains DAR were invited to a 250th Celebration event held at the Westfall elementary school. The event was well attended by many of the students, parents and faculty of the school. there were many questions on the items the members of the SAR brought in and educated those on what is was to live during the period of the revolutionary war. There were listed approx. 400 RSVP and the number of kids that came in to see and learn was truly special.

2026 American 250th State House event

April 15th The State 250th commission organized help an American Revolution encampment event in front of the state house lawn. Many reenactors were present to show the public a little of what it was like during the late 1700. On hand were the 8th Pennsylvanian regiment were there to show life as a soldier in the revolutionary war. Camp Charlotte was there show many of the items the militia would have had during that time. The weather while quite sunny was very very windy causing many items all over the field to be simply carried off into the wind.

2026 Granville Daffodil Show

April 11 Members of the OHSSAR were asked to attend the Granville Garden Clubs 250th celebration Daffodil Show. This is held each year but because of the 250th birthday coming up the organizers thought it would be nice to have some members from both the SAR and DAR in attendance to add to the theme. The weather was very nice for the event at the Bryn Du mansion. The local newspaper The reporting Project was on hand interviewing many and taking various Photos of the activities going on around the property .

2025 Longs Run Cemetery Grave Marking Ceremony

Saturday the 25th of October Camp Charlotte had the honor to be present at the Mahoning Valley Chapter SAR to honor those patriots buried at this cemetery. The weather was perfect for the occasion and turn out was fair. Some of the attendees came from as far as Indiana for the event. The local DAR chapter was present to provide a wreath to the patriots and the local news station was there to capture the moment .

2025 The American Constitution premiere

For the up coming 250th celebration the Ohio 250th commission presented the premiere of The American Constitution. This was a 18 year build of how the American constitution can to be. The event was attended by member’s of Camp Charlotte SAR and Arthur St. Clair SAR and the Pickaway Plains & John Hoover chapters of the DAR at the request of the Director David Garrigus. The movie is schedule for a 2026 public release via PBS.

2025 Lafayette Farewell Tour

On May 12th There was a special event as one of our Camp Charlotte members went down to Louisville Ky. to participate in the ceremonies of the Marquis de Lafayette return to the interior of the newly form United States of America as he traveled to thank the Americans and wish them well. There were many attendees with many in period clothing.  An added touch was the presence of the 3rd United States Infantry Regiments “Old Guard” fife and drum Corps. The main activity was the crossing of the foot bridge that Lafayette crossed over the Ohio into Indiana which was reenacted with many in the procession.  Once over to the other side a Patriot Memorial Ceremony a Liberty tree dedication and grave marking ceremony took place at the Veterans Memorial Park. This was hosted by the Indiana Daughters of the American Revolution Ann Rogers Clark chapter. This was followed by a Military Tribute 24 gun salute and unveiling  of the Pomeroy Foundation Marker.

2021 Compatriot Max Demp Donates SAR 250th Flag to the Camp Charlotte Chapter

A new member of the Camp Charlotte SAR compatriot Max Demp has graciously donated the SAR 250th flag to the Camp Charlotte chapter. This flag will be present in all our upcoming events and ceremonies including celebrations of our countries 250th birthday but also the 250th commemoration of the Camp Charlotte treaty in 2024.
